visiting bishop

This past weekend, St Silas’ church in Glasgow hosted +Godwin Okpala from the Province of Nigeria.  David, the rector, has kindly posted the sermon.  You might find it interesting.

You can find it on Gadget Vicar or directly here.

  1. I am depressed of course, though I have met such arguments so often as to know them inside out up side down.

It becomes increasingly clear to me that however sincere those who argue like this, they should not be given the comfort of thinking more agree with them than do. There is a higher value than either truth or unity and of course it is love. It is not loving to make others think one holds a position one does not, not yet to follow a path predicated on condemnation and not on love.
